紫金是隶属于河源市的一个县，团结勤劳的紫金人们为了加快紫金县的发展以及加强人们之间的交流，特建设了紫金论坛以供紫金县的同乡们交流及发布各种信息。目前紫金论坛已经成为河源市最活跃的论坛之一，其中各种信息应有尽有。
紫城镇地处紫金县中部，系中共紫金县委、县政府驻地，全县政治、经济、文化、交通的中心。全镇区域面积384.8平方公里，其中城区面积12平方公里，山地面积441581亩，耕地面积42692亩。下辖42个村（居），其中居委会12个，人口18万多人，是省定中心镇并纳入为河源市副中心城区。
紫城镇交通便利，与河源市区相距仅65公里、与惠州市相距110公里，规划建设中的河紫高速公路在紫城镇设有出入口，届时可纳入珠三角三小时经济圈，紫金至龙川公路建成通车，省道紫海线、惠紫线、紫五线贯穿境内，均已按二级以上的标准铺设了水泥路，镇内各村道基本实现硬底化。
